hand moves furtively towards the hustler’s thigh,
~ eventually achieving more intimate contact. It is not

. unusual to find a hustler’s fly open and his private

parts in an active position. The hustler always sits
with his coat on his lap.

This clinches things. The john withdraws his hand,
whispers a proposal and the two leave.

Even if the hustler fails to get set up by remaining
in his seat, there is the men’s room. Men standing
- around appear to be indifferently catching a smoke.
Far from it. Their eyes are alert to every entrance.
They look one another up and down—not missing
an opportunity to achieve that tell-tale glance. They
stand at urinals for as long as fifteen minutes, view-
ing each arrival with excited curiosity.

No attempt at the modesty found in the usual
men’s room is made. Exposure is bold. Indecent
acts have been committed in such places with other
men looking on. One usually stands at the door to
warn of an intruder. Action stops until the newcomer
demonstrates his willingness to become a part of the
