Dosage was 100 to 150 mg per head a day, and the treatment lasted 10 to 20 days. Normal heat and ovulation was suppressed in 94.9 % of gilts and 97.0 % of sows. Most of pigs come on heat on the 5th to 7th day following withdrawal of treatment, and the duration and phenomena of estrus were normal. The con- ception rate in the first estrus after drawal of treatment was 87.3 % in gilts, 80.2 % in sows. Duration of pregnancy, litter size, number of piglings and development of piglings were normal. In 17 pigs given injection of PMS 1,000 IU on the next day of withdrawal of oral administration, and HCG 500 MU four days later, the conception rate was 100 %04 and the number of piglings was also considerably larger than that of methallibure administration only. 1497
