Vle CONG. INTERN. REPROD. ANIM. INSEM. ARTIF., PARIS, 1968, VOL. I SUMMARY. In preliminary studies using a technique previously described for the display of chromo- somes from blastocysts of the pig, chromosomes were examined from 12 blastocysts obtained from 11 heifers between 12 and 16 days of gestation. The presence of tetraploid cells in one of the blasto- cysts suggests that chromosome abnormalities may contribute to early embryonic death in the bovine. (1) D. H. CARR, 1965.
