Learn about the civil rights movement and the rights it addressed as well as the ways in which different change makers across the globe have advocated for human rights and the SDGS using different approaches. 2. Inspire students to effect change in an issue that is important to them based on the different approaches used by various change makers. 3. Act by demonstrating an understanding of the different ways through which change may be created and by reflecting on the di— rection that they want their own projects to take. Skills and Knowledge 1. Students will identify important phases in the US civil rights move— ment as well as the importance of the movement’s work in advocat— ing for the right to equality. 2. Students will identify the change makers in each of these phases and the different approaches they took to ensure that the civil rights movement would become a mass movement.
