Learn about the injustices that led to the French Revolution and the links and differences between the French Revolution and other revolutions. 2. Inspire students to think about injustice and how it can be remedied. 3. Act by evaluating what makes a democratic movement successful. Skills and Knowledge 1. Students will learn about the three estates. 2. Students will learn about absolute monarchies and government symbols. 3. Students will learn about art and how it can portray historical events. 4. Students will practice independent research skills. 5. Students will continue developing comparative skills. 6. Students will examine the French Revolution using the same criteria that will be used to examine South Africa later in the year. Overview The students will expand their understanding of social movements around the rights of individuals from the American Revolution to the French Revolution.
