The tool is a Geographic Information System that identifies all of the state’s
archaeologically sensitive sites (users can zoom in to the New York City
level). The students should start with the school building itself and use pic—
tures, videos, and primary documents from the construction of the school—
and from before the construction of the school—to try to figure out the
prior uses of the building. They can then visit some of the archaeological

sites in New York City.
