Activity 2.2.4 Access to School and Child Labor around the World In this lesson the teacher explains how access to school around the world varies and introduces the topic of child labor. The children read selected chapters in the book Facing the Lion, by Joseph Lekuton, and discuss in class the different responsibilities and opportunities that children have in differ— ent parts of the world. They also watch selected segments of the series Time for School. To introduce the discussion of the factors that influence access to school, the teacher uses lessons from the Coverdell program.
