Fernando M. Reimers et a1. Looking Forward: Who are we, where do we come from, what do we have in common, and how do we differ from others? Exploring people, culture, and the world. Overview of the Units 1) Human Needs 2) Food and Water 3) Clothing and Shelter 4) Respectful Relationships Capstone The students create a “Book of Me” (a scrapbook) about themselves that mirrors the “snapshots” of the children in Oxfam’s “My World, Your World.” They include photos of themselves, their families, their homes, the foods they eat, their clothes, and other items that they determine are needs and wants. The book will also double as a portfolio of the work that the students will create over the course of the year, such as poems, drawings, and other materials. (Note that for all Oxfam activities in this year, the United Kingdom should be replaced with the country where the course is been taught.) 32
