on the factors that influence the choices behind what they
wear.

1. Learn to describe the different types and colors of clothing worn by
themselves and their classmates.
2. Inspire students to be curious about other people.
3. Act by asking questions and learning about their classmates’ favorite
things.

1. Students will learn to ask different kinds of questions.
2. Students will understand that choices of clothing are influenced by
a variety of factors.
3. Students will recognize that a single piece of clothing may look dif—
ferent in different parts of the world.
Overview

Students begin the year by getting to know one another and talking about

the meaning behind their names. They then learn about one another by

asking one another about their favorite things and begin to recognize that
