s MOOSEHEART MAGAZINE The Martin Child Quincy, Mass. Lodge No. 413 BROTHER Arthur L. Martin joined Quincy, Mass., Lodge No. 413 of the Loyal Order of Moose, September, 1920 by transfer from Bath. Maine. He was a widower and had one child, Helen Martin. The mother had died in the spring of 1914. Following the mother’s death, Helen was placed in the care of an orphan asylum at Minneapolis, Minn. Brother Martin worked \ as a carpenter and was able to contribute \ a small sum to the asylum each month. v\ He understood that if he should die it | j would be possible for his little ones to j come to Mooseheart. Brother Martin died September, 1920 at Portland, Maine. Quincy, Mass., Lodge No. 413 paid the sick and death benefits. He left no property or money and his Lodge did not know of the whereabout of his daughter. There came a day when the Orphan Asylum at Minneapolis, Minn., had to close because of the lack of funds. This meant that those children who had no parents or relatives living would be sent to other Institutions. Eventually it was discovered that Helen’s father had been a Moose of Quincy Lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose and so they appealed to them in Helen’s behalf. Quincy {Continue l on pafjc 19) *^sk'*^*
