MOOSEHEjVRT MAGflZIK MEN’S LEGION NOTES Legionaire John Stevens of Chicago Heights is the new Great North Moose of Mecca Legion No. 11 at MOCSU-HEART. He expects to lead Mecca to even greater prosperity this year and acorcding to past performances he will do so. Great North Moose Stevens is one of the biggest Legion-aires in the Order. Herder E. J. Hanke was re-elected in Mecca district. The Legionaires in Mecca are fortunate in securing such an able Herder. San Francisco, Cal., Lodge No. 26 entertained Congressman Julius Kahn with a banquet and social session at which a well selected vaudeville program was presented. The Chronicle of the far west city in reviewing the affair said: “Congressman Kahn delivered a special address of great importance before the Loyal Order of Moose and touched - intimately upon subjects of national moment.” The congressman is a life member of Lodge No. 26 and has always been active in L. O. O. M. interests in all sections of the United States. West Toronto, Canada Lodge No. 87 recently held a reception and banquet in honor of the returned soldiers of the lodge and also the two champion ball teams, West York and Western, both city winners and composed of members of the local lodge. Addresses were made by brothers Sam Ryding, R. G. Hunt, Secretary Rydell, H. H. Roeksborough, Alf Verrall, Athol Gow, and Robert Thornton. An attractive program combining musical numbers and vaudeville features also served to entertain. MISS MARTHA G. MURPHY Social Service Worker, Detroit, Mich., Lodge No. 160. .Miss Murphy served two years in the advanced sectors in France as a member of the American Army Nurse Corps.
