The State Historian has many times been requested, and it is very proper that he should do so, to gather data covering the service of Ari-' zona men in the world war. The historian appreciates the importance of this work and desirous to undertake it, but realizes that it will greatly increase the expense in his office. This additional expense will undoubtedly be more than the increase of $2.000 per year in his recommendations, which, however, is all he asks for operating expense.
