Encouragement to God's people.
have waited for thee: he thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3	At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
4	And your spoil shall be gathered Wee the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
5	The Lord is exalted for he dwell-eth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment* and righteousness.
6	And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of fsalvation: the fear/of the Lord ¿?.his treasure.
7	Behold, their rj valiant ones shall cry without; the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
8	The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regard eth no man.
9	The earth mourneth and languisbeth ; Lebanon is ashamed a?id 6 hewn down ; Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
10	!Slow will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted;* now will 1 lift up myself.
11	Ye shall conceive chaff; ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
12	And the people shall be as the burnings of lime ; as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
13	Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and ye that are near acknowledge my might.
14	The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath.surprised* the hypocrites: Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15	He״* that walketh prighteously, and speaketh <ruprightly; he that despiseth the gain of t oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of X blood, and shutteth his” eyes from seeing evil;
16	He shall dwell on i¡/ high : his place of defence shall he the munitions of rocks; bread shall be given him, his waters shall he sure.
17	Thine eyes shall see? the King in his beauty: they shall behold the land p that is very far off.
18	Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the 7 receiver ? where is he that counted the towers?
19	Thou shalt not see a fierce people; a people of deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a ¿stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.
20	Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities : thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever״ be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21	But there the glorious Lor d will be unto us a place n of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22	For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our 0 lawgiver, the Lord is our king ; he will save us.

JjEHOLD, a king shall reign in righteousness,” and princes shall rule in judgment.
2	And a man shall be as an hiding-place from the wind, and a covert* from the tempest; as rivers* of water in a dry place ; as the shadow of a /3 great rock in a weary land.
3	And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim: and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
4	The heart also of the 7 rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak ¿plainly.
5	The vile person shall be no more called liberal,nor the churl said to he bountiful.
6	For the vile person will5 speak vil-lany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7	The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when Kthe needy speaketh right.
8	But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he A stand.
9	Rise up, ye women that are at ease; * hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
10	Many p days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
11	Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones :stripyou, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
12	They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant ״fields, for the fruitful vine
13	Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns1 and briers, tr yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
14	Because the palaces shall be forsaken ; the multitude of the city shall be left; the <p forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
15	Until the Spirit* be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and? the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
16	Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

2	Et erit vir sicut qui absconditur a vento, et celat se a tempestate, sicut rivi aquarum in siti, et umbra petr® promi-nentis in terra deserta.
3	JSlon caligabunt oculi videntium, et aures audientium diligenter ausculta-bunt.
4	Et cor stultorum intelliget scientiam, et lingua balborum velociter loquetur et piane.
5	Non vocabitur ultra is, qui insipiens est, princeps: neque fraudulentus ap-pellabitur major:
