August 30, 1918. THE COLLIERY GUARDIAN. [supplement PAGE XVII.] 475 Coal Saving For Collieries. The National Interest. It is of vital importance that coal should be saved, because of shortage of labour, difficulties of transport, the needs of industry, and the necessity of maintaining the export to our allies. The best field for coal economy to-day, especially in collieries, is the boiler- house where in average cases 25-40 X of the coal used can be saved. The reason is that the business of scientific methods of steam generation is that of a Specialist. We have been engaged solely and continuously in this business for 10 years, and we are not amateurs who have taken it up in the last few months. Also we are not interested in the sale of any plant, machinery, or appliances, or in any other firm. We are so sure of effecting a saving, as a result of our unique experience, that we are willing to carry out the work on the principle of payment by results. We shall be glad to explain our proposition personally or by letter, and are prepared to visit your Colliery free of charge and give you our opinion of the working of your boiler-plant. gmivnlir & (hrccn Jtd., TECHNICAL CHEMISTS & ENGINEERS, SPECIALISTS IN FUEL ECONOMY. 2, AUSTIN FRIARS, LONDON, E.C. 2.
