Railway and seaborne coals are coming forward with greater regularity. Business in Northumberland and Durham coals is dull, largely on account of the continued scarcity of tonnage. Prompt ffo.b. quotations are nominally unchanged. Lancashire, Yorkshire and Midlands correspondents report great efforts on the part of merchants to accumulate stocks for the winter. The tendency in Cardiff is towards higher prices, in anticipation of a new official basis. Stocks are
