The Use of Wood-Brake Blocks

on Colliery winding engines is a source of danger
from fire. Many instances have come under our
notice where serious damage has resulted owing to
the brake blocks firing. In addition there is the dan-
ger of the brakes failing to act owing to the wood
carbonising. These dangers can be eliminated by
the use of Ferodo linings on your brakes. These
are absolutely spark-proof and non-inflammable.

small, and it burns with special
advantage poor-quality and refuse fuels
such as pond settlings, coal pickings,
