COAL, IRON AMD ENGINEERING COMPANIES.

REPORTS AND DIVIDENDS.

Canadian Explosives Limited.—A dividend of If per cent,
has been declared on the 7 per cent, cumulative preferred
shares for quarter to December 31, payable January 15, to
holders registered December 31.

Dominion Steel Corporation Limited.—The directors have
declared' a dividend at the rate of 1J per cent, on the pre-
ference shares, payable on February 1. -	, ; . . .

Furness, Withy and Company Limited.—A dividend of 10
per cent, per annum (6d. per share), free of income-tax, on
the ordinary shares for quarter (interim), payable Feb. 1,
is announced.

New Hucknall Colliery Company Limited.—The directors
have declared a further interim dividend on account of the
year ended December 31 of 5s. per share, less income-tax, on
the ordinary shares; also the usuaJl dividend bn the prefer-
ence shares.' ' '

On Saturday a miner’s cottage in Keels Hill-terrace, Pease-
down St. John (the property of the Dunkerton Collieries),
was seriously damaged by fire. The local miners are
arranging to help the occupier for the loss he sustained.
