The Act requires that after January 1st, 1913, a person acting as a fireman, examiner, shot.firer, or deputy in a mine in which this Act applies, must have obtained a certificate from a Mining School, Institution, or Authority approved by the Secretary of State. Under this Act the School of Technology has been approved by the Secretary of State. An examination will be held at the School on the evening of March 1st, 1913. The following fees will be charged for firemen :— For the f ull examination (i.e. (1) Gas Tests, (2) Air Measurements, and (3) Hearing) _________________________________________ Note.—All firemen, examiners, and deputies appointed after 16th December, 1911, have to obtain the full certificate, with the exception onlv of firemen, examiners, or deputies employed in mines in which inflammable gas is unknown, who are required to obtain a certificate as to (2) and (3) only, and not as to (1).
