South Staffordshire Mond Gas (Power and Heating) Company Limited. — The profit for the year ended December 31 last amounted to £13,069, compared with £8,856 in 1911. After adding the amount brought forward, £1,628, and deducting bank interest and interest on debenture stock, there is a net profit of £9,980, out of which it is proposed to pay a dividend at the rate of 5s. per share, less tax, and carry forward £1,718. South Wales Colliery Company Limited.—The report for the year ended December 31 last states that the collieries have been worked satisfactorily. The payment by the lessees of the colliery rent of £5,000 for the half-year ended December 31 last became due on January 21. The payment of the annual sum of £3,000 on account of guaranteed fund, due on July 21 last, has been satisfied by the presentation of 229 A shares (which have been cancelled and a corre- sponding number of deferred A shares issued in exchange), and by the payment of the balance in cash. The profit for the year ending December 31 last amounts to £10,036 Ils. 2d., which, with the amount brought forward, makes a total of £11,076 8s. 4d. Deducting the interim dividend paid on August 1 for the half-year ending June 30 last, at the rate of 14 per cent, per annum on the B and new B shares, and 4 per cent, per annum on the A and deferred A shares, amounting to £4,990 10s. 4d., there is a balance of £6,085 18s., and out of this the directors recommend the payment of the following dividends for the half-year ending December 31:—Balance of preferential dividends on the B and new B shares at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, £1,621 16s ; a final distribution at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum divided ratably between the A, deferred A, B, and new B shares, £3,368 14s. 4d., making with the interim dividends a total distribution for the year of 14 per cent, on the B and new B shares, and 4 per cent, on the A and deferred A shares, and leaving a balance to be carried forward of £1,095 7s. 8d.
