Sirs,—I have heard from a foimer pupil that the proof of Pythagoras’ theorem which I gave you a fortnight ago is quite well known to French and Belgian students. I should be interested in any explanation as to why our educational authorities have so effectually hidden this very simple proof from British students. Is it by accident
