Lord St. Aldwyn, independent chairman of the Welsh Coal Trade Conciliation Board, has granted the workmen’s application for an increase of 12^ per cent, on the new standard. The German Government is being urged to intro- duce a scheme of maximum coal prices without delay. A serious stoppage has occurred at the Standard Collieries, Ynyshir, through an attempt to force into the South Wales Miners’ Federation the enginemen, stokers and craftsmen employed at the colliery.
