Very little alteration has as yet been made in the position of contracts, and the tonnage booked up is generally reported as being very lighr. A White Paper has been published dealing with coal shipments for each quarter of the years 1912 and 1913. The following summary figures are given. The total quantity of coal exported from each port of the United Kingdom in the year 1913 was 73,400,118 tons, as compared with 64,444,395 in 1912. The total export of coke for the year 1913 was 1,235,141 tons, being an increase of 224,491 tons as compared with 1912. The quantity of manu- factured fuel exported in 1913 amounted to 2,053,187 tons, being an increase of 472,384 tons as compared with the previous year. The shipment of bunker coal for the United Kingdom amounted to 21,031,550 tons in 1913, as compared with 18,291,370 tons in 1912.
