THE HEYWOOD PATENT FURNACE BARS
AND SMOKE BURNER COMBINED.

The Heywood Patent Induced Draught Bars and Smoke Burner Combined.

The illustration shows the Bars and Smoke Burner working together, but we can
fit the Bars up without Smoke Burner, or the Smoke Burner without the Bars, if
required. All the Bars are cast separate and made of special chilled metal. These
Bars have been designed to give more air space with as little metal as possible,
and at the same time ensuring strength and durability in the life of the Bars.

The Apparatus consists of a Hollow Casting forming part of the Fire Bridge, and
its position at that point. It is fitted inside with a suitable slide, which keeps the
air passing through the Apparatus, which, naturally, is as hot as the fires them=
selves, and can be adjusted suitable to the nature of the coal being burned.

The illustration shows the Bars made in 5 ft. or 6 ft.
lengths, with ribs cast on. This Bar has been
designed to meet the requirements of Collieries, Steel
Works, Forges, Locomotives, Steamers, and all other
types of Furnaces that are very hard fired.
