MARCH 13, 1914. _________________ The London coal trade has slightly improved during the week in response to the colder weather, but prices rule very low. “ Spot lots ” at special prices are the ruling feature of the market. The prompt market on the Tyne is moderate, whilst the market on the Wear shows steadiness. Business throughout Lancashire and Yorkshire may be termed fair. In Derbyshire the demand has been enhanced by the colder weather. The market at Cardiff has been somewhat irregular, but an improvement was noticeable towards the latter part of the week. The Scottish coal trade remained slightly easy.
