January 31, 1913. THE COLLIERY GUARDIAN. 261 The New Positive-Pressure Injector Rescue Apparatus Is the only one on the market which combines the Safety of the Non=injector type with the Efficiency of the Injector type. The combination has been effected by the provision of a small additional breathing bag on the back of the apparatus, to act as a pressure equalizer and absolutely prevents the formation of negative pressure in any part of the apparatus. IT ALSO ADDS TO THE COMFORT OF THE APPARATUS. IT ALSO ACTS AS A LEAK-DETECTOR. Helmet.—Strongest and lightest on the market. Constant flow of oxygenated air sweeps across the face of wearer. Perfectly air-tight fitting, safe and comfortable. Mouth Jet.—Fits comfortably in the mouth. Slight weight taken up by skull cap, which ensures against mouthpiece being pulled out of mouth. Harness.—Composed of broad webbing. No cutting of the flesh and perfectly unrestricted movement on the part of the wearer. Regenerator.—Largest possible carbon-de-oxide ab- sorbing capacity. Separated from back of wearer by broad strap causing him no discomfort by heat. Cooling Pipes.—So arranged that the purified air is cooled along a long line of tubing. Injector.—Intact, of short and compact design. Can be inspected in a few seconds. Breathing Bags.—Of ample dimensions, so con- structed the circulation cannot be impeded should wearer lie flat on his chest or climb over a bar. Oxygen Cylinders.—Can be changed while in an irrespirable gas. General.—Apparatus fits the body closely, no pro- jecting parts. Cool and comfortable breathing in any position. No valves in the path of the circulating air to stick upon becoming heated. Weight distributed evenly over back and chest of wearer, allowing unrestricted movement. Can be stored ready for use.
